Education and Background
Laura has been practicing nursing since 1988, when she received
a nursing diploma from Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge,
Illinois. She earned a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner certificate
from Arizona State University (ASU) in 1995. Laura graduated with
her bachelor's degree in 1990 and her master's degree in 1994
from the College of Nursing at ASU. In 1990, she was elected as
both Cardiovascular Unit and Critical Care Service Nurse of the
Year. As a nurse practitioner, Laura has provided weekly lectures
on nursing topics, clinical rotations for a pediatrician including
newborn hospital rounds, clinical rotations at Arrowhead Hospital
in Glendale, Arizona, and for the Student Health Center at ASU.
She also participated in the Migrant Medical Team Health Fair
in Buckeye, Arizona. She is a member of the Arizona Nurses Association
and Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing. She
is originally from Chicago, Illinois.
